🦉 PriceOwl tip
PS5 prices have dropped significantly and the secondhand market is finally competitive. The best value right now is a used console bundle — you often get an extra controller and a game for less than a new console alone.
The PlayStation 5 has been out for a few years now, but prices still vary wildly depending on where you look. We compared prices across eBay, Amazon and Vinted so you don't have to.
Current PS5 Prices UK (June 2026)
As of today, here's what you can expect to pay:
- Amazon — New PS5 Disc Edition: around £479. Usually the most reliable for new stock.
- eBay — Used PS5 in excellent condition: £320–£380. Great if you don't mind pre-owned.
- Vinted — Private sellers: as low as £270, though condition varies.
Should You Buy New or Used?
A used PS5 from a reputable eBay seller with 100% feedback is almost always a safe bet. The console is sturdy and the savings — often £100+ — are hard to ignore. Vinted is riskier since there's less buyer protection, but it's where the real bargains hide.
What to Watch Out For
- Check the seller's feedback score on eBay — aim for 98%+ with at least 50 reviews
- Make sure it includes the original controller — replacements cost £60+
- Ask if the warranty is still active — PS5 comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty
- Avoid bundles with games you don't want — they inflate the price
Best Time to Buy
Prices typically drop in October–November before Black Friday as sellers offload stock. January is also strong for used deals as people sell Christmas gifts they didn't want.
