- Check the serial number — every genuine pair has a serial number on the case lid. Check it at checkcoverage.apple.com. If it shows up, they're real
- Price too good to be true — AirPods Pro under £60 on Vinted are almost certainly fake
- Box and accessories — genuine AirPods come with Apple-branded documentation and Lightning or USB-C cable
- Connection test — real AirPods show up in iPhone Bluetooth settings with their model name and battery percentage
Are Refurbished AirPods Worth It?
Amazon Renewed and eBay Certified Refurbished AirPods are a solid middle ground — they've been tested and come with a warranty, usually at 20–30% below new price. The battery may have some wear but most are replaced during refurbishment.
